:: Osho - The Dhammapada: The Way of The Buddha
"Buddha says the greatest joy in life is freedom: freedom from all prejudices, freedom from all scriptures, freedom from all concepts and ideologies, freedom from all desires, freedom from all possessiveness and jealousy, freedom from all hatred, anger, rage, lust..."

:: Save Your Neck
"Tension in the neck can cause a host of health problems -- from headaches to anxiety to lower-back pain. Your teachers may advise you to be careful with your neck, but what exactly does that mean? This week, we examine some of the ways to care for your neck and ease tension that may cause pain."

:: God is Awareness
A recent question to Maitreya and his incisive answer
Question: We can probably agree that it is evolutionary to stop identifying oneself with thoughts, emotions and actions, and that it is preferable to just witness or notice them. Should we then identify with the source underlying everything, or should we just witness without trying to put our attention anywhere ? Said another way, should we try to focus on that which underlies? Will what underlies naturally enter our awareness without conscious direction of awareness?

:: Osho on Kabir
"Kabir's words are unique. It is difficult to find a mystic like Kabir in the history of the whole world, because he is raw, uneducated; whatever he says, it has no way of coming from the scriptures. He is quite unacquainted with the scriptures, he has no treasure of great value in words. The words he uses are of the marketplace, of the day-to-day use. But in those words he has poured everything, which even for the seers of the Upanishads has been difficult to pour in all their purest of word forms."

:: Body Talk: 8 Yoga Moves to Relax and Refresh You
"Many modern-day people have turned to yoga to unwind and relax, to stretch and build weak postural muscles, and to develop a sense of inner center and peace. Yoga utilizes several techniques to achieve these objectives: deep, full, focused breathing, expansion of the chest, stretching of the spine, and strengthening of the body's foundation."

:: Dynamic Meditation
"Dynamic meditation is a contradiction. The dynamic means effort, much effort, absolute effort. And meditation means silence, no effort, no activity. You can call it a dialectical meditation. Be so active that the whole energy becomes a movement, no energy is left static in you. The whole energy has been called forth, nothing is left behind. All the frozen parts of energy are melting, flowing. You are not a frozen thing now; you have become dynamic. You are not like substance now; you are more like energy. You are not material; you have become electrical. Bring total energy to work, to be active, moving."

:: Meditation Rooms And Their Importance
"Meditation rooms in airports, hospitals and office buildings nationwide are blooming like the lotus. Is it surprising that meditation rooms are a growing presence in American homes, too? Not at all, Grasshopper.
Consider this: An estimated 18 million people now practice yoga. And Asian influences of all kinds continue to be more popular than ever in home decor.
Karen Adjmi says she feels more peaceful just walking up the stairs to her meditation room."

:: Yoga, or Something Like It
"Yoga hybrids such as Aqua Yoga and Disco Yoga have sprung up across the country. YJ editor Nora Isaacs heads to the epicenter of yoga experimentation, Manhattan, to see what is gained—and what is lost—as a result of yoga's diversification."

:: Yoga For Yogaphobes
"My husband is deathly afraid of three things: spiders, swimming and yoga. The third has most recently been added to his list, after I came home from my first yoga class feeling so relaxed that he feared I'd been drugged."

:: What Are You Really After?
Many practice yoga and maybe even more preach lofty, spiritual ideals. However, the true and unmistakeble reason behind the practice needs to be cleared before any important steps can be made on the path.
"Traditionally, the goal of spiritual practice has been to attain enlightenment, but is that what today's seekers are really after?
YJ's poll seems to reveal that the goals of today's yoga practitioners are exceedingly practical, even unspiritual. As yoga enters the mainstream, what we think of as "higher" intentions for practice may be losing ground to the more immediate, graspable goals of firmer abs and lower blood pressure. Of course, there is a positive side to having modest, focused aims: Clear, practical goals can provide the essential foundation of sound body and mind. (Gurumayi quotes her guru, Muktananda: "First the stomach, then God"--first, meet people s basic needs, then you can offer spiritual teaching.) And when we have goals that are not overly idealistic, we may be less likely to cling to what we want or become deluded about our achievements."

:: From Law School To Yoga
"Rodriguez, known to her high school friends as Kivi, spent years going to school, earning her degree in psychology from Stanford and her law degree from Columbia in New York.
When she broke her right wrist, she couldn’t take the three-day, eight-hour, written-based exam to become an attorney.
Instead, when her wrist healed, she flew to New Delhi, India, in August 2001 to earn her yoga teaching certificate."

:: Alleviate The Stress
It's Monday morning, the beginning of the weekly work cycle, with all the associated stresses and obligations. Five long work days stand before the next weekend. How does one make the week ahead just a little bit easier? Yoga. "It gives me sanity," says Heidi Douglas, her eyes wide, her face relaxed, her skin pink from the hour and fifteen minute yoga session she has just finished.

:: Retreat To Yourself
IN this busy world where time is money, too much of anything is toxic and your mobile phone is your best friend, it is easy to feel as though there is something missing. You try to eat well, get enough sleep and work out regularly. You should be feeling fantastic, yet where is that ideal "spiritual" state that is said to lurk somewhere within us and how do we access it?

:: It's Surreal!
"With an immutable conviction that the most important thing in life is to be healthy and happy, she adds: “If you are not happy, you can’t be healthy, and if you are not healthy, then you can’t be happy.” As long as individuals expect others to do things for them, they will never truly understand the power of helping themselves. “People are the biggest healers, but so many do not know that fact. They go to doctors for healing, whereas doctors are for diagnosing, not healing — people need to know that once diagnosed, they can heal themselves.”"

:: Laugh With Us
Mulla Nasrudin was looking over greeting cards.
The salesman said, "Here's a nice one -- "TO THE ONLY GIRL I EVER LOVED."

:: Quality Versus Quantity
"Remember, it's not the quantity of yoga that you do, it's the QUALITY of the yoga. You can receive the wonderful benefits of yoga just by taking a few minutes during the day to focus on your health."
[ Sep/14/2003 ]

:: Women Yoga
"Today there are many medical options for treating "women's" health issues. There are also many self-help tools available to assist in staying vibrant and alive even during times of great hormonal shifts such as pregnancy, postpartum, premenstrual, and the peri and postmenopausal phases of our lives."
