:: MUDRAS for benefits
"The physical body is made up of five elements namely - Air, Water , Fire , Earth and Aakash (ether).
Imbalance of these elements disrupts the immunity system and causes disease.
Deficiencies in any of these elements can be made up by connecting one part of the body with another in a particular manner through Mudras."

:: New and Effective Asana
Marichyasana
Marichi's Pose is sometimes called the Sage's Pose. Marichi = literally means a ray of light (of the sun or moon). Marichi is the son of Brahma and chief of the Maruts ("shining ones"), the war-like storm gods. He's one of the seven (sometimes 10 or 12) seers (rishis) or lords of creation (prajapatis), who intuitively "see" and declare the divine law of the universe (dharma). Marichi is the great-grandfather of Manu ("man, thinking, intelligent"), the Vedic Adam and the "father" of humanity.

:: Beneficial Astral Configuration
On the night of 24th to 25th of November, 2002, from 22:00 to 23:15 (G.M.T) we have the following astral configuration: Mercur sextil Neptun: it awakens the telepathic and intuitive capacities, activates the premonitory qualities, as well as the healing force through biomagnetic pases.
During this interval you may meditate and benefit from this beneficial astral configuration.

:: Musical Yoga
"Any musician struggling with a playing-related injury should seek medical help. But a musician often needs to assume responsibility for his or her own healing. The real beauty of yoga is its ability to help prevent injury in the first place, by offering counter movements that relieve current physical strain and years of accumulated repetitive motions."

"A cluster of colorful yoga mats and beach towels appear every Wednesday at noon in the lobby of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke's Givens Performing Arts Center. A CD recording of guitar music soothes ragged nerves. On this day, 11 enthusiastic participants have arrived to stretch their bodies and minds. Marilu Santos transforms from biology professor into master yoga instructor for this hour."

:: Yoga Club - You May Start Your Own!
"“The yoga science thesis teaches that every person is a spirit-soul and each person’s antithesis is that matter covers you,” said Tandis Sadeghi, vice president of the club. “Yoga and meditation teach you how to use matter spiritually.”
Stress relief is one of the main reasons that students have joined the club. Other reasons include increased flexibility and achieving peace of mind.
“I have noticed a difference in my breathing abilities and with stretching,” said Alana Trax, a senior anthropology major.

:: Full Moon Alert
Today, November, 19th, at 03:00 a.m. (GMT) is the maximum of the full moon influence. The interval in which you should be cautious begins eighteen hours before the maximum (which today is at 03:00 a.m.) and ends eighteen hours after the maximum. During this interval we recommend that you be extremely cautious in any undertaking, as well as abstain from sexual intercourse. Avoid fighting, getting mad and any other negative emotion as much as possible because its effects will be amplified in this period.

:: Play by the Rules, and Be a Winner!
This is not a lottery, it is the most important of all things: it is about our souls. What do we do to keep them safe from harm, and happy? All we have to do is to know and respect the laws of universal harmony!
"Interestingly, Patanjali, the author of the Yoga Sutra written some two centuries after the life of Jesus, demonstrates a similar approach to the study of yoga. In the second chapter of his book he presents five specific ethical precepts called yamas, which give us basic guidelines for living a life of personal fulfillment that will also benefit society. He then makes clear the consequence of not following these teachings: It is simply that we will continue to suffer.

:: Loving-kindness meditation
"Loving-kindness meditation (metta) challenges us to send love and compassion to the difficult people in our lives—including ourselves.
Loving-kindness, listed ninth in the traditional list of the 10 Perfections of the Heart (also known as the paramitas) is described as the heart fully awake in friendliness, compassion, and empathic joy. The Perfections are the 10 particular permutations of goodness and kindness that the Buddha was said to have developed in his many lifetimes before the one in which he was acknowledged as fully enlightened and venerated as the Buddha."

:: Thought About Suicide? Better Forget that Thought!
Near-death experiences suggest the quality of our lives after death is not necessarily determined by how we died, but by how we lived. Unfortunately, living can be extremely difficult at times. Life can be so difficult at times, many people choose to end their own lives. ...
It has been said a suicide dies only once; but those left behind die a thousand deaths trying to understand why. Near-death experiences reveal there exists serious karmic penalties for hurting others. However, not all suicides result in hurting others nor do all suicides have negative consequences. Find out more in the pages that follow.

:: Unbelievable
"In December 1943, during World War II, twenty year old Dr. George Ritchie died of pneumonia. Nine minutes later, miraculously and unaccountably, he returned to life to tell of his amazing near-death experience in the afterlife. His near-death experience was the one that profoundly moved Dr. Raymond Moody to begin seriously investigating the near-death experience. Since Dr. Moody is considered to be the "father of the near-death experience" this near-death experience is in a class of its own. You will find this experience to be one of the most profound near-death experiences ever documented."

:: Fantasy or Reality?
People say it really happens...People like me and you
"Back in '72 I had my first out-of-body experience. I was not a believer without an experience. I guess you could say I was an agnostic, but I was interested and it sounded intriguing, so I tried the target technique for three weeks. Nothing happened, but into the fourth week I actually had my first out-of-body experience."

:: Yoga Students Issued a Plan to Stop Terrorism
When Margaret Hahn tells me about Omaha Yoga School's plans to send booklets to the United Nations on how to respond to terrorism, all I can think of is all the reasons this won't do any good.
"I think that's how a lot of goodness stops. People get afraid of what's going to happen."
One of the basic principles of yoga, she said, is "you do your duty."
Maybe they'll read them, and maybe they won't.
"We're doing our duty," Hahn said. "We'll leave this up to them."

:: Get Rid of Fear - Get Happiness Instead!
"Yoga can help deal with stress -- that's the idea behind a new weekly class being offered in a Beverly Karate studio. It's an idea that appealed to violence counselor Andrea French.
"What I had noticed working with clients was they had mentioned feeling numbed out or not connected and just not focused, and so to provide a yoga group we thought could really teach techniques to help them calm themselves," French said.

:: Oriental Yoga vs Occidental Yoga
"The practice of yoga has evolved over thousands of years, Feuerstein noted, and is rooted in ancient Indian philosophy that promotes concentration and prayerful meditation.
Building a brand, franchise or competition around a spiritual discipline is "nonyogic," she said. "Yoga is not hamburgers."
"What happens when people emphasize putting more energy into the capitalism of yoga is they dilute the true meaning and value of yoga and how it's been presented for ages," said Tony Sanchez, a San Francisco yoga teacher who offers free yoga classes to inner-city schoolchildren.
