:: Office-Stretch Instead Of Office-Stress
Our sdentary life-style has already created a great amount of health problems, which we barely know how to react to.
Spending the whole day in the office, sitting in front of the computer is not an unusual situation, and the more often it occurs, the worse it is for our health.
Therefore, the Yoga Journal team offers some trick to avoid health problems.

:: Get Strong Muscles!
Training your pubococcygeal muscle (PC muscle) is an essential practice in the awakening and control of the sexual energy.
Therefore, any man who desires to master the art of sexual continence will have to pay close attention to the exercises aiming to strengthen the PC muscle.
This muscle sustains the pelvic floor, and is stretching from the pubic bone to the top of the coccys. This is also the muscle that contracts in the moment of ejaculation (in the case of men) or orgasm with discharging of the sexual energy (in the case of women).

:: Which One?!
"No two styles of yoga teach the same pose the same way, and nowhere is this more evident than with Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). So who's right? We asked five instructors to show us their approach to Triangle and compared their methods."

:: Love - The Magic Of Simplicity
"Love is constructive and creative; she unites and lifts you up. It's a regenerating principle, a substance that turns everyone who's blaze and lonely. Masterpieces, poems, inspiring music, they all have in their composition something - love. And so do we.
Love is real, as real as we are. It's not a sterile concept but a magic of all our being. The moment that not even a blade is an accident, if someone loves you, you should take that into consideration. Because we exist for proving that there is love on Earth."

:: Yoga for Sedentary Youths
"Kleinfeld said her classes will be safe, where kids can explore yoga without worrying about being judged by or competing against peers.
Yoga also can help teens pay attention to obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure that are increasingly diagnosed among young kids. It can teach them how to breath properly and calm down, which helps lower blood pressure.
Yoga is about being healthy and will help kids pay attention to what they eat and how they exercise, she said."

:: Books to Read and Meditate Upon
Today's book is another book by Sri Swami Shivananda, and is called Practical Lessons In Yoga.
"Realise that you are neither body nor mind, that you were never born nor will you ever die, that you are invincible, that nothing in this world can hurt you, that you are the Sun around whom the whole universe revolves. The whole knowledge is treasured up within the chambers of your heart. Procure the key and unlock the doors of Knowledge. Yoga is the Key. You will attain unruffled peace, marvellous self-control and tremendous will-power."

:: Yama, Niyama and Your Spiritual Life
"In any spiritual tradition, there is an important note regarding the significance of reaching a state of harmony in one's individual life, before moving on to more "advanced" techniques. Thus, before moving on, the novice is recommended to observe the rules. In truth, when observed, these rules may spontaneously lead to states of ecstasy."

:: The Mystery of Yoga - Revealed!
American Power Yoga:
"He's glad to let others in on his secret and, in fact, said, "There's no mystery to yoga. Others have tried to say that there's a secret to it, but it's for everyone. It's something you do for yourself."
Hmm...is Yoga really that simple?! We wonder...

:: Eight Forms of Yoga
This is a chance to find out more about the Eight Forms of Yoga.
"The yogi strives to open the gift of life and discover his fullest possibilities. A yogi endeavors to discover the higher consciousness and how the body, mind, and emotional nature can be truly fulfilled through unifying their purposes — rather than living in constant interior civil war."

:: Practice Wisely
More and more Yoga classes and teachers arise, as the popularity of this great tradition increases. The benefits of the yogic practice are clear and undisputable. However, caution is needed when deciding to take up a class and follow a teacher.
“So consumers need to be cautious when choosing how and where to practice yoga,” says Dr. Halbrecht. “Physical fitness should be about fun and conditioning not about incapacitating and painful injury. Something must be done to alert consumers about the risks before the good name of an ancient practice is itself a victim.”
[ Jan/16/2003 ]

:: Pranayama
Why is pranayama so important? It is because
"As long as a person does not perceive and understand correctly the flow of energy through Ida and Pingala and as long as the energy is not "forced" through Sushumna nadi, that person will not have control over the mind and the prana."
[ Jan/15/2003 ]

:: You Are What You Eat - goes an ancient saying
Therefore, what you eat is of outmost importance. And in no case it is less important than how you eat.
"Here's a riddle : What makes a grape taste different from an olive? And what makes a grape grown in France's gentle southern coastal region of Provence taste different from a grape grown in the high altitude desert regions of New Mexico? Going further, what makes truth different from lies? What makes me different from you?"
[ Jan/14/2003 ]

:: Ashwini Mudra
"The perseverant practice of Ashwini Mudra grants the control over the vital energies (essential for a healthy person) and activates the process of transmutation and sublimation of the descendant energies into superior forms of energy."
[ Jan/13/2003 ]

:: Great Masters
What else could speak better of the great sage Nityananda than his own words?
"There are various tests to which a devotee is subjected: they could be of the mind, or the intellect, of the body, and so on. A number of such tests are there. In fact, God is conducting tests all the time; every occurrence in life is a test. Every thought that crops up in the mind is in itself a test to see what one's reaction will be. Hence one must be always alert and aloof, conducting oneself with a spirit of detachment, viewing everything as an opportunity afforded to gain experience, to improve oneself and go on to a higher stage."
[ Jan/12/2003 ]

:: Kriya Yoga of Babaji
"The yoga of action (kriya), leading to union with the soul is fiery aspiration demonstrated by consistent kriya practice with detachment from expectations (tapahs), study of the inner-self (swadhyaya), and devotion to Ishvara (Isvarapranidhani). Ishavara is the primordial teacher, Gurudeva. For the Yogi, he is Shiva. His closest representative within us is the Soul. Om is its mantra and it appears in the world as shakti (energy) in the form of light and sound."
