:: Swami Krishnananda - Yoga, Meditation and Japa Sadhana
"I shall endeavour to portray in simple terms what one may regard as the central objective of human life and the possible methodology that could be adopted in implementing this objective, and its realisation. You must have heard a lot about what is known as Yoga. And many a textbook, many a discourse must have given you varied information on this mysterious technique known as the art of the practice of Yoga. In simple terms, without involving technicalities, if Yoga is to be defined, it can be called the system of harmony. What you call harmony in the English language, for example, Yoga is in Sanskrit. It is nothing mystifying or beyond the conception of human understanding. But there is a great proviso in this simple definition of Yoga as harmony. While it is true that harmony in every field of life is what we seek in our day-to-day existence, it is necessary to know what harmony, actually, means. And when the essential of that simple fact called harmony gets imbibed into our consciousness, our personality gets stabilised. Stability of personality, equilibrium of consciousness, harmony in the walks of life, is Yoga."

:: Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis
"Multiple sclerosis, which afflicts about a million people worldwide, is a chronic disorder of the central nervous system in which the immune system, for unknown reasons, attacks the myelin sheath that insulates nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord.
Over time, the disease can lead to numbness, muscle weakness and stiffness, impaired vision and coordination problems.
To determine whether exercise can help people with MS, Oken and his colleagues split 69 MS patients into three groups. Over six months, one group enrolled in a
weekly yoga class geared toward people with the condition, another enrolled in a stationary bicycle exercise class for MS patients and were given their own stationary bike to take home, while the rest maintained their normal activity levels."

:: Why Do We Do Yoga?
"YJ's poll seems to reveal that the goals of today's yoga practitioners
are exceedingly practical, even unspiritual. As yoga enters the mainstream, what we think of as "higher" intentions for practice may be losing ground to the more immediate, graspable goals of firmer abs and lower blood pressure. Of course, there is a positive side to having modest, focused aims: Clear, practical goals can provide the essential foundation of sound body and mind. (Gurumayi quotes her guru, Muktananda: "First the stomach, then God"--first, meet people s basic needs, then you can offer spiritual teaching.) And when we have goals that are not overly idealistic, we may be less likely to cling to what we want or become deluded about our achievements."

:: The Point Of Non-Return
"The point of non-return is defined as the point in which you no longer can avoid ejaculation and it appears due to intense and uncontrolled excitation during lovemaking.
If you wish to practice sexual continence you have to stop when you feel that you are getting close to this point, taking your time to calm down the effervescence, to transform the "explosive" energy and to sublimate it into volitional, affective, mental and spiritual energy."

:: WHY LOVEMAKING WITH CONTINENCE?
"BECAUSE:
1. It harmonizes the structure of the body naturally and quickly
An intercourse experienced with continence is not only extraordinarily pleasant but moreover, it is equivalent to one hour of playing tennis or to 45 minutes of jogging. Besides the anti-stress molecules (endorphins), which are produced by secretion through sexual prolonged pleasure, these molecules may alleviate the bulimic attack as if by magic. Thus one may give up jogging or the monotonous antifatness treatment in favour of the frenetic love games with sexual continence."

"Mahavatar Babaji, a Himalayan mahayogi said to be about 1,800 years old, is the founder of kriya yoga. The world first heard about him courtesy Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi. Today, many cults are growing around his enigmatic persona. Mumbai-based Dr Ram Bhosle claims to have lived with him for six years."

:: OHSU researchers reveal yoga and exercise can improve patients’ quality of life
Results of a clinical trial conducted by Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) reveal yoga or exercise assists multiple sclerosis (MS) patients with fatigue. The study was conducted and funded within the Oregon Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Neurological Disorders (ORCCAMIND) at OHSU. The research results will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology meeting on April 3 in Honolulu.
To assess the benefits of yoga and exercise in MS patients, researchers studied 69 people randomized into three study groups for six months.

:: Caring For Yourself - Part 4
"You can get into a sensual mood even after a hard day of work if you get in touch with your body. You can perform a slight massage with creams and lotions meant to moist and revitalize your skin.
Exploring your body, even as superficially as it may seem with a good quality moisturizing cream or lotion may improve your image about yourself, in spite of the advertisers proclaiming an unreal perfection."

:: Men Trying Out Yoga
"A lot of guys don't realize they don't have good flexibility, and when they get into the class, they realize they need to start working on that," Stokes said.
Colarossi agreed - he said he seemed more flexible and lithe after just a single 10-week session of classes. And even though Colarossi, a member of the advisory board of the American Council on Exercise, knows the benefits of stretching, it was yoga that sold him on its true value.
"Before yoga, my stretching routine was terrible," he said.
"I never wanted to stretch. Never really bought into the benefits. Even when I was a gymnast, I just wanted to jump on the equipment and go. But yoga has changed that. I feel stronger now and I even lost a bit of weight, which I think was the result of adding something new to my routine."

:: Taoist Techniques For the Control of the Sexual Enregy - Part Four
"The cosmic energy enters the body through Pai-Hui, the tellurian energy comes in through Yung-Chuan, while Hui-Yin is placed at the middle distance between the two. This makes it an essential point in the circulation of the energy through the body.
The tellurian energy enters the body through Hui-Yin. The sexual energy contained in the testicles enters and leaves the body through this gate.
In other words, when the Hui-Yin gate is closed, the vital energy stays inside the body."

:: April's "Fool"
"So everybody who goes to his grave comes back puzzled: "Why did he do it?" It is impossible not to ask the question why he did it. There is nothing behind the door, there are no walls. Why did he ask for the door and the lock and leave special instructions that the keys should be thrown in the ocean, because the door is not to be opened again?"
